Synthese Conference on Qualitative and
Quantitative Methods in Formal Epistemology

November 20-21.11.2014, ILLC Amsterdam

The goal of this meeting is to bring together researchers using formal methods in epistemology, methods ranging from logic to probability theory. Topics of focus include, but are not limited to:

  • Formal representations of belief;
  • Bridge principles between qualitative and quantitative methods;
  • Belief revision strategies;
  • Knowledge update rules;
  • Coherence requirements for belief;
  • Epistemic justification;
  • Types and representations of uncertainty.
